Minnesota Obtaining Citizenship Through Naturalization Attorney
There are a few ways in which a person can obtain United States citizenship through naturalization.
- If you are not married to a citizen of the United States, then you must be a permanent resident of the United States for at least 5 years.
- If you are married to a citizen of the United States, you must be a permanent resident of the United States for at least 3 years.
An additional requirement is that you cannot have spent more than 6 months out of the United States during your time of residency. You also must have been in the United States for at least 30 or the last 60 months’ time.
