Minnesota Broken Leg Attorney

A broken leg is a serious injury that requires immediate treatment which can vary depending on the type of break.

  • Open / Compound Fracture – The broken bone pierces the skin. Aggressive treatment is vital to reduce infection.
  • Closed Fracture – The broken bone has not pierced through the skin.
  • Complete Fracture – the bone snaps into two or more pieces
  • Incomplete Fracture – The bone remains intact but is cracked
  • Comminuted Fracture – The bone is broken into several pieces and surgery is required to ensure proper alignment.
  • Displaced Fracture – The bone fragments are misaligned and surgery is required to realign and stabilize.

A cast is required for a minimum of 6-8 weeks to restrict the movement of the broken leg to allow proper healing.  Physical therapy will be needed once the cast is removed to reduce stiffness and restore movement in the injured leg.  Recovery time can take many months for complete healing.

A broken leg is a serious injury that requires immediate treatment and recovery.  This can result in expensive medical bills and lost wages due to the inability to work while injured.
