Minnesota Broken Elbow Attorney

The three bones that form the elbow are:

  • The humerus – extends from the shoulder to the elbow and forms the upper arm
  • The radius and ulna (forearm) – extends from the elbow to the wrist

Ligaments, muscles and tendons stabilize the elbow allow for movement of the joint.

A broken elbow is a serious fracture commonly seen in car and motorcycle accidents that can lead to complications and disability.

Some signs to look for in an arm injury include:

  • swelling or deformity at or near the elbow
  • grinding, popping or clicking when moving the elbow
  • discoloration
  • numbness in the arm
  • unable to move forearm, wrist or fingers
  • pain in the elbow, forearm, wrist or hand
  • temperature change or color change in the forearm, wrist or hand

A broken elbow can create problems with motion (bending, straightening, rotating), blood vessel and nerve function, not to mention it can damage the structure of the joint.  Without proper treatment and recovery, the injury can cause chronic pain and possibly permanent disability.

If you are suffering from a broken elbow, it is important to seek legal advice as soon as possible, especially if your injury is due to another person’s reckless behavior.
